dream life

pt. 59

for the past few months i’ve been working on a collaboration with visual artist/poet/arizonan cameron lawrence. i bound a book and we send it back and forth filling its pages with…whatever we feel moved to fill it with. i was nervous to ask cameron if he wanted to give it a go, me being a novice at all of this but i’ve found that having this conversation with him through our work has pushed my work individually too. when i open the book to see cameron’s work and how it speaks to my last piece, i try to linger in the possibility of what my response will look like, how it will come through on the page. i don’t know what i’m going to do but i just start.

cameron, if you’re reading this, know that my response is below and i’m getting the book back in the mail to you this week!
